Where we come from
ZNX Energy GmbH was founded in Ahnatal, near Kassel, in 2026. Its managing directors, Fabian Dold and Mira Kowalski, also lead Equator Solar Systems Ltd in Uganda, which Franz Sistemich founded in 2011. The grid there is weak and unreliable, so it shows quickly which parts of a system fail.
On every project we take one role only, independent advisor or turnkey partner, and the four rules below apply on every project.
Our team
Two of them run Equator Solar Systems Ltd in Uganda, where the grid fails regularly. The other two bring German expertise in energy engineering and consulting.
Managing Director
He is an engineer and has been CEO of Equator Solar Systems in Kampala since 2020. He has spent a decade building solar and storage on grids that fail regularly. That is harder than working on the German grid, and it shows what actually breaks. At ZNX he runs the engineering side and the commercial side, and he is the person a client talks to first.
Managing Director
She has been Co-CEO and CFO of Equator Solar Systems since 2023. She handles the commercial structure of a project: what it costs and whether the business case holds up in practice. At ZNX she runs finance and administration.
Founder and Senior Consultant
He holds a Dipl.-Ing. in Maschinenbau and an M.Sc. in Energiemanagement, and he is a BAFA-accredited energy consultant and certified ISO 50001 auditor. He founded renergy consulting and is its managing director. He brings the economic analysis and the load-profile simulation, and he is the reason our feasibility studies hold up in an audit.
Founder and Senior Consultant
He founded Equator Solar Systems in 2011 and also founded NEXIRA in Kassel. He has built energy businesses in two markets, and at ZNX he is responsible for strategy, partnerships and sourcing.
Every project, no exceptions
Four things stay the same on every project.
On every project we take one of two roles, never both. As independent advisor we are paid a fee, earn nothing on hardware and take no commission from manufacturers or installers. As turnkey partner we deliver the system through vetted installation partners under one contract. If we wrote the specification or evaluate the bids, we do not bid.
ZNX sells no own hardware brand, develops no own control software and owns no energy assets.
Our feasibility studies and audits follow the method of DIN EN 16247-1 and ISO 50002 and favour no manufacturer.
Load-profile analysis, feasibility studies, quote reviews and acceptance tests are offered at a fixed price agreed on the scope. Owner’s engineering is billed by day rate or as a fixed fee. Turnkey delivery is a fixed-price contract.
Track record
Franz, Steffen and Fabian first worked together in 2014 on the Jesa feasibility study, then delivered battery storage and solar projects for Equator Solar Systems Ltd across East Africa. ZNX Energy GmbH was founded in 2026 to bring that engineering record to the German market.

Who we are
Three companies stand behind the work ZNX Energy does. NEXIRA GmbH holds a quarter of the shares, renergy consulting is the firm of shareholder Steffen Waßler, and Equator Solar Systems Ltd in Uganda is where the engineering background comes from.

NEXIRA GmbH is one of ZNX Energy’s four shareholders, represented by Franz Sistemich, who founded Equator Solar Systems in Uganda in 2011 and NEXIRA in Kassel. NEXIRA brings strategic support and an international network, built up over a decade of running an energy business in East Africa. ZNX Energy builds on the same background.

renergy consulting is Steffen Waßler’s firm in Ettenheim. Steffen is a BAFA-accredited energy consultant and certified ISO 50001 auditor, and a ZNX Energy shareholder and senior consultant. His feasibility studies and load-profile analyses follow the method of DIN EN 16247-1 and ISO 50002, and ZNX Energy’s own consulting work is built on the same standards.
