Meet your EDL-G and EnEfG duties with an audit no vendor has written.
Companies that are not SMEs must carry out an energy audit under §8 EDL-G, the German Energy Services Act, independent of their consumption. Above 2.5 GWh of final energy consumption a year, §9 of the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) also requires published implementation plans for economically viable measures. Above 7.5 GWh, §8 EnEfG requires a full energy or environmental management system. A neutral audit assesses storage and PV potential as one part of the measures, with nothing to sell on top.
2.5 GWh
Threshold for EnEfG implementation plans (§9)
7.5 GWh
Threshold for a mandatory management system (§8 EnEfG)
What you get and what we need
What you get
You get a compliant audit that assesses storage as part of it.

The audit is carried out to DIN EN 16247-1, the standard for energy audits, and produces a list of measures with an implementation plan. Storage and PV potential are assessed as part of that list. Companies above 7.5 GWh also get support for the energy review that feeds an ISO 50001 energy management system.
- Energy audit to DIN EN 16247-1
- Measures list with implementation plan
- Storage and PV potential assessed within it
- Reporting support where the law requires it
- For companies above 7.5 GWh: support for the energy review that feeds an ISO 50001 system
2.5 GWh
Threshold for EnEfG implementation plans (§9)
7.5 GWh
Threshold for a mandatory management system (§8 EnEfG)

The audit covers every energy carrier on site, not only electricity, so we start from complete consumption data and an overview of your meters. Site access lets us check the data against what is actually installed.
- Energy consumption data for all carriers
- Metering overview
- Site access
How it runs
Four steps from scope to the final measures list.
Scope and data
We agree the scope and collect consumption data across every energy carrier.
Site inspection
We inspect the site to verify the data against the installed equipment.
Analysis
We analyse consumption and identify economically viable measures, storage included.
Report and measures
You receive the audit report and the measures list with an implementation plan.
Role and fee
This is how we are engaged on this service and how the fee is set.
One role per project
On every project we take one of two roles, never both. As independent advisor we are paid a fee, earn nothing on hardware and take no commission from manufacturers or installers. As turnkey partner we deliver the system through vetted installation partners under one contract. If we wrote the specification or evaluate the bids, we do not bid.
Fee
Load-profile analysis, feasibility studies, quote reviews and acceptance tests are offered at a fixed price agreed on the scope. Owner's engineering is billed by day rate or as a fixed fee. Turnkey delivery is a fixed-price contract.
